Save the Turtles
Turtle Pads role
Turtle Pads started out as a solution to solve a problem, to offer accessible and affordable percussion education to students wherever they may be. When the concept of the drawstring backpack drum pad was first brought up, it resembled something of a turtle when it was being worn. Therefore, we built and named the company Turtle Pads. In using that name, we wanted to take ownership and add a personal touch. Very soon after launching our product, we partnered with the SEE Turtles Organization to provide support to turtle conservation efforts. We also hope to do even more in the near future.
About SEE Turtles
SEE Turtles was launched in 2008 as the world's first effort to protect these species through ecotourism. Originally fiscally-sponsored by the Ocean Foundation and most recently Oceanic Society, SEE Turtles is now an independent 501c3 non-profit based in Beaverton, Oregon.
SEE Turtles Mission
SEE Turtles protects endangered sea turtles throughout Latin America and the world by supporting community-based conservation efforts. Their Billion Baby Turtles program provides support for important turtle nesting beaches and has helped save more than 4 million hatchlings. Too Rare to Wear is a campaign working to end the demand for turtleshell products. Their conservation trips provide volunteer and financial support for conservation efforts and their school programs help teachers and students learn about these incredible animals and how to protect them.
